The American Business Awards honored ARAG with the 2009 Stevie Award^® as Customer Service Team of the Year in the banking, financial services and insurance category. More than 2,600 entries were submitted from companies of all sizes and industries.

ARAG has been certified as a Center of Excellence five consecutive years (2007-2011) by Purdue University's Center for Customer-Driven Quality in conjunction with BenchmarkPortal, a national benchmarking firm. BenchmarkPortal evaluates contact centers across a variety of industries on their ability to exceed rigorous statistical standards in comparison to their industry peers. Only five to seven percent of companies that apply and undergo a rigorous assessment review achieve the overall performance results that are required for certification and an even smaller percentage of companies receive certification for consecutive years.

ARAG is a proud recipient of the Patriot Award from the National Committee of Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The award recognizes organizations that provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees while on active military service. ARAG was nominated for this award by an ARAG team member serving on active duty in the Army Reserve.

For the third consecutive year, ARAG was named one of the Best Places to Work in Insurance by Business Insurance magazine and Best Companies Group. The selection was based on in-depth assessment of workplace benefits, policies, practices, team member engagement and satisfaction. Only 10 out of the more than 50 companies recognized in 2011 have received the honor the past three years in a row.

ARAG Cares earned an Award of Excellence in the Community Service category for the Insurance and Financial Communicators Association’s 2009 competition. IFCA competitors include many of the most respected financial organizations in the U.S. and Canada.

ARAG was honored with a 2009 Workplace Learning and Performance Award from the Central Iowa Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) in the category of Training as a Business Strategy.

ARAG was chosen as the Best Kept Secret in Des Moines for the 2010 Economic Impact and Celebrate Business Awards, sponsored by the Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Des Moines Business Record. The Best Kept Secret Award is presented to a local business that applies best-in-class practices to serve customers and the community yet maintains a low profile.

ARAG earned a 2010 Gold Award for outstanding writing from Hermes Creative Awards for the white paper "Legal Needs of Today’s Multi-Generational Workforce." Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies.

In the category of Non-Traditional Advertising, ARAG won both a Gold ADDY and Best of Class Award for a 2010 benefits enrollment event. The award was presented by the American Advertising Federation of Des Moines, Iowa.

In 2010 ARAG received two Nova Awards from the Iowa Chapter of the American Marketing Association. Honors were given in the categories of Public Relations and Interactive-Web site.

The Central Iowa Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America honored ARAG with four PRIME Awards in 2010. Honors were earned in the following categories: Integrated Communication Campaign, Electronic Communication, Computer Based Documents and Promotional Writing.

In 2010, the Iowa Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators presented ARAG with three Bronze Quills for outstanding work in the field of communications. Receiving the IABC’s Award of Merit were My Story videos, Legal Risk Assessment and LawExpresso^™.
