Cam Sutton, Chief Executive Officer
Cam Sutton

Cam Sutton is the Chief Executive Officer of ARAG. He has more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry; Cam skillfully provides strategic direction and leads the growth and development for the North American subsidiary. He is responsible for leading ARAG’s mission to deliver exceptional value while helping individuals protect their families, finances and futures.

Cam has held several executive positions and spearheaded key initiatives at some of the world’s leading risk management, brokerage and consulting organizations. Prior to joining ARAG in 2007, he was the executive vice president for Aon’s Executive Benefits Practice and a member of Aon Consulting’s Global Operating Committee.

Education: Cam received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska’s College of Law. He has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from American College.

Commitment to Community: Sutton is an active member of several industry groups and a former trustee for the National Association of Life Underwriters.

Erin Barfels, Chief Human Resources Officer
Erin Barfels

As Chief Human Resources Officer, Erin Barfels provides leadership and direction for the people strategies of the organization including workforce planning, compensation and benefits, organizational development and other human resource strategies related to the execution of the business objectives.

Prior to joining ARAG in 2005, Erin served as Human Resources Manager for RSM McGladrey, Inc. in Des Moines. 

Education: Erin earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree with an emphasis in human resource management from Iowa State University.

Commitment to Community: Erin is actively involved in organizations focused on children and families in need.  She currently serves as a board member for Variety Club of Iowa, and has served as a VIP fund raiser for their annual telethons since 2003. She and her family also served as the March of Dimes Ambassador Family 2003-2004. In the past, she has been involved in the Blank Children’s Hospital Family Advisory Council.

Ann Cosimano, General Counsel
Ann Cosimano

As General Counsel for ARAG, Ann Cosimano directs the company’s Legal, Regulatory, Compliance and Provider Relations departments. She joined ARAG in March 2000 as a part-time staff attorney and assumed the full-time position of Corporate Counsel later that year. She became Acting General Counsel in November 2006, and was named General Counsel in late 2007.

Education: Ann received a bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology and pre-law from Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska, and attended Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, where she received her Juris Doctorate.

Commitment to Community: She serves on the Board of Directors of the American Prepaid Legal Services Institute (API). She is a member of the Polk County Women Attorneys, Polk County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Ann is actively involved in the ARAG Cares Program, which provides education and free legal services to residents of the Family Violence Center in Des Moines.

Ann Dieleman, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer
Ann Dieleman

Ann has spent her career in the financial services and insurance industry with more than 10 years in senior executive positions in employee benefits-related efforts. In her current role with ARAG, Ann has executive responsibility for ARAG’s North American marketing and service functions. Prior to joining ARAG, Ann had marketing responsibility for a top five national accounting, tax and business consulting firm. In addition to her sales and marketing experience, Ann is a member of the ARAG executive team charged with linking corporate strategy to business execution. She has a personal commitment to helping create a more legal informed consumer base; as well as leading the design of customer-centric approaches to business.

Education: Ann received her master’s degree from Drake University and her bachelor’s degree in business and communications from Simpson College. She also holds an associate’s degree in customer service designation from the Life Office Management Association.

Commitment to Community: Ann is an executive member of the Creative Good Councils. She is a member and former board member of the American Marketing Association, a member of the Direct Marketing Association and a corporate member of LIMRA International.

David Murray, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Chief Operating Officer
David Murray

As the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for ARAG, David Murray directs the overall financial policies of the company and related corporate finance transactions. He directly oversees all financial functions including the accounting and finance department, underwriting and pricing, financial reporting, auditing and investing of corporate assets. As the Chief Operating Officer, David also oversees client support services, project office and information technology departments at ARAG.

Education: David earned his bachelor’s degree in business and accounting from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and his Master’s of Business Administration from Drake University.

Commitment to Community: David is a member of the Central Iowa Private Enterprise CFO Forum, and he also helps coach the junior soccer, wrestling and baseball teams in Carlisle, Iowa.
