Current Opening: Provider Relations Service Specialist
Purpose
This position will be responsible for maintenance of the ARAG attorney network and arranges for retention of attorneys outside the ARAG network when a network attorney is not available.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews all applications to the ARAG attorney panel, and assists in the investigations leading to decisions around acceptance and/or denial into the network. Sends notification to attorneys regarding decision of acceptance or denial into the network.
- Reviews and updates information on panel attorneys in the content management system.
- Receives requests for special referrals for services outside the ARAG network. Gathers information from the insured and negotiates arrangements with qualified attorneys within specific guidelines.
- Recruits attorneys in geographical areas where attorney panel needs to be enhanced.
- Assists in the investigation of attorney complaints and forwards recommendation to appropriate parties regarding resolution.
- Discusses professional services protocol recommendations with the Director of Network Management to make improvements where appropriate.
- Responds to attorney inquiries regarding coverage, policy limits, claims payments, etc.
- Coordinates and maintains attorney credentials for continued admittance in the panel.
- Demonstrates knowledge of ARAG products.
- Accesses, utilizes and discloses individually identifiable information to perform specific functions of the position in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and as required by law.
- Serves as a positive role model by representing the ARAG Values.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (including experience and education)
Skills –
- Knowledge of policy provisions as related to review of coverage, limits, etc.
- Knowledge of applicable privacy laws.
- Understanding of department functions as related to attorney panel maintenance.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Accurate and speedy data entry skills.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
Education –
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience –
- 1-3 years of prior claims experience or experience in the legal environment.
Certifications, Licenses, Associations, etc. –
- None.
