ARAG® and Drake University Law School Plan Special Events for Law Day 2010

DES MOINES, Iowa – April 26, 2010 – ARAG^®, a global leader of legal insurance, in partnership with Drake University Law School, is sponsoring educational and networking events for students, legal professionals and the community to celebrate Law Day 2010 on May 1.

Ann Cosimano, General Counsel at ARAG, says, “The Law Day related activities provide law students an opportunity to meet legal professionals and hear their life experiences regarding the rewards and challenges of a legal career, get advice on incorporating social media into marketing strategies, and learn about available resources to get started in a legal practice.”

ARAG is sponsoring the annual Court to Court 5K Run and Walk to benefit Iowa Legal Aid, a nonprofit organization that provides legal assistance to low-income Iowans, and is co-sponsoring Drake Law School’s Small Firm Networking Event and Starting Your Own Law Firm panel.

The American Bar Association describes Law Day as a time for Americans to reflect on the rule of law, the foundations of our legal system and the history of the U.S. judicial system, and to consider its future in a rapidly changing world.

Cosimano says, "The theme for this year's Law Day observance, 'Law in the 21st Century: Enduring Traditions, Emerging Challenges,' is an appropriate topic given the concerns some consumers have about protecting personal rights in an era of instant access and sharing of information."
