A Great Place To Work

ARAG Team Members Explain What Makes ARAG a Great Place Work.

Brandon Warner
Team Lead & Customer Advocate

"I am a Team Lead with the ARAG Customer Care department. I'm also the Customer Advocate as well.

I like working at ARAG because it's full of genuine people and there's a family-like atmosphere. What I mean by that is there's not a lot of false pretenses - you're actually seen as a real person with real value to the company.

I actually ended up at ARAG through an employee referral. A good friend of mine was made aware of the fact that I just was not happy at another organization I was with. The main thing was that I just didn't feel the same family environment, the same family atmosphere that I got from ARAG even on my first day in.

Once I received my recent promotion that just took place about five to six months ago, he was the first person I thanked.

Erik Kolstad
Associate Actuary

"I'm an Associate Actuary in the Finance department. We price new business, we price renewal business, and we work together with the product development area and also the marketing area to put together marketing collateral that ties in with the pricing of the product.

A lot of actuaries will just work on one thing and I mean forget about it, that's what you do for five years - you know, and that is not the case here, so I think at least from a professional standpoint I think that's pretty relevant.

The benefit package at ARAG is really rich. We have great health benefits and dental and vision. And our 401(k) benefits are great. We have a nine percent match, which is the best that I've seen anywhere. The benefit package is everything that I could ask for to take care of myself and also my family."

Will Petersen
Provider Relations Manager

"I'm the Provider Relations Manager at ARAG. Provider Relations is the department that works closely with our network of attorneys. My job is to make sure that network has satisfaction for their experience with ARAG and is working well with the plan members we send their way.

The number one thing about ARAG that makes your job fun is the environment. As I say to people all the time, it's the least corporate corporate environment I've ever been in.

Of all the places I've ever worked, it's the one company that from the day you start, people are thinking about where will you be ten years from now at ARAG.

Sarah Smerage
Corporate Communications Consultant

"I'm a Corporate Communications Consultant at ARAG. I work in the Marketing department.

I began working with ARAG four years ago as a Marketing Consultant. I had a part-time schedule that was great in that it allowed me time to be home with my young children. Following about 18 months as a consultant with ARAG, the Marketing Director asked me if I'd be interested in joining ARAG as a full-time employee. At the time I didn't want to be working full time with little children and she put together an opportunity for me to join ARAG and still maintain my flexible schedule."

OUTTAKE:

"No, but what I was trying to get through was that holistic thing about it's the wellness, it's the benefits, it's the interesting things to do at work, it's the working with people - there's not a lot of real politics here. It's trying to get all that. I didn't quite do it."

Background: "You say that, I mean that was great, I think that what you just said was awesome."

Sarah: "Did you tape it?"
